HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT (HSE) PANEL
The HSE Panel at the Smart Exploration Research Center (SERC) is responsible for ensuring that all research activities are carried out safely, responsibly, and with the highest environmental standards. Its objectives include:
• Promoting a strong culture of health and safety across all SERC activities, in close collaboration with students, staff, and partners.
• Providing expert advice and support on best practices for planning and conducting fieldwork and laboratory work.
• Producing, updating, and maintaining required HSE documentation, including risk analyses, fieldwork lists, and minimum safety standards.
• Acting as the central point of contact for safety- and environment-related guidance, offering access to guidelines, templates, and documentation whenever needed.
• Offering appropriate and reasonable health–safety–environment training tailored to the needs of SERC students and researchers.
• Protecting the environments in which SERC operates, ensuring responsible practices and minimal environmental impact.
